Take Action

Global:

Recent studies show that climate change in the Arctic is happening at a faster rate than elsewhere on Earth. There are nearly 100,000 reindeer herders in northern ecosystems around the world, and they - and their animals - are on the frontlines of this growing threat.

Changes to weather, temperature, and landscape have caused herds to decline as reindeer face starvation, low-reproductive rates, and malnutrition. To protect the animals and people that are being affected by warming conditions, the global community must establish international laws that will regulate greenhouse gas emissions.

However, the responsibility isn't solely on our political leaders. As individuals we must also evaluate our lifestyles and make fundamental changes. To estimate your ecological footprint and take steps to lower or even offset your impact, please use these tools from WWF and Conservation International.
